Graduated cum laude from Humboldt State University in Arcata, California, with a degree in Religious Studies and Creative Writing.
1992-1995 — New York
Moved to the Catskill 'mountains' of New York to work with a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the heritage of the Indian traditions and sacred texts. It was here he uncovered a previously unknown talent for event coordination and communication strategies.
1995-2000 — India
Sailed on to the sub-continent to intensify his work with the Indian traditions and discovered an equally blossoming flair for organizational management and public speaking. Learned the importance of writing with clear, simple and elegant words as often as possible.
2000-2011 — France
Followed love’s beckoning to France and established himself as a writer for the ESL and corporate training markets, working intensely with clients in the chemical, bio-medical and pharmaceutical areas.
After publishing several articles for France and GoEnglish magazines, he took up his e-pen and created an ongoing blog about life in France, for which he received a “Favorite Blog” distinction by TravelAvenue.com in April 2011.
Alex lives in France with his wife and two children. When he’s not writing or blogging, he’s taking photographs, climbing, or practicing the sometimes insanely difficult and frustrating — yet strangely enough, rewarding — violin.
